So, Avatar Finale Week has finally started in North America, and I'm absolutely stoked (and I never use that word!).




The Western Air Temple was an excellent way to kick off what promises to be one of the most epic finales in cartoon history.

To be honest, when Book 3 started, I wasn't quite as impressed with it as I was the first two. A lot of it seemed kind of fanservice-y -- like they were just trying to give the fans what they wanted to see. But those thoughts quickly vanished after rewatching the first half of the book . To name a few, The Headband, The Puppet Master, The Avatar and the Fire Lord, The Day of Black Sun, and now The Western Air Temple certainly stand out as some of the best episodes this series has to offer.

In this one, Zuko definitely comes across as remarkable. It's great to finally see his character turn around completely after only fifty episodes (hey, it's shorter than most anime story arcs). I have to say, it was quite entertaining to witness his attempts to prove that he's changed, not to mention his practice sessions with the frog, lol.

The flashbacks with Iroh brought a nice, nostalgic touch to the episode. Greg Baldwin is doing an admirable job of voicing everyone's favorite uncle. I think Mako would be proud... and maybe a little creeped out/amused.

Hehe, it was a little disappointing to see Combustion Man defeated so quickly, but personally I think it was awesome that Sokka got to bring him down (three cheers for the underdog ). Combustion Man was very much a part of Zuko's character development, so I don't question his relevance to the story at all. He was an intriguing enemy while he lasted. Farewell, Sparky Sparky Boom Man .

I liked the ending, too. It was very realistic the way everyone dealt with Zuko's joining up. However, he seems to have gained most of their trust -- and rightly so.

LoL. Katara's got murder in her eyes, though XP.

This episode gets an 'A' from me. I'd say "I can't wait for the next one" but that'd make me look pretty impatient. 24 hours is not long at all .

On another note... I managed to build up a backlog of about two hundred un-replied-to comments O__O. So, I apologize if any of your questions and/or critiques have gone unanswered. I'm lazy by nature so I've put it off for a while, but I'll try to go through and find any of those that I missed.

Oh, also, I've got a LiveJournal account now. If I ever get to starting it up, I'll be using the journal to chronicle my progress on a longtime project of mine -- a comic book called "Everblue". Don't expect anything too soon, though .

Two Sides - Sokka - This one should be easy to do now that Avatar is back in full swing, bombarding me with inspiration left and right . I'm thinking his two sides will be... the warrior and the kid, which I believe are the two most contrasting sides of Sokka's character.

Teen Titans Revisions - The first four deviations in my gallery are a little dated art-wise, so I'm gonna make new ones based on the old concepts. These will be to thank people for all the pageviews and to show I'm still an obsessed Titan fan .
